Wasn’t even that close. Troy Smith had a great game at QB, as did the offense, which functions fine when the coaching staff isn’t fucking around with it by rotating QBs. I’d hate to look back on this season and assess that Jim Tressel lost the team a national championship by rotating QBs in the Texas game.
Here. Not sure what to make of this. I have never been a big Lee Suggs fan…as far as I can tell, the guy’s entire value rests on two big games in garbage time two years ago. Wouldn’t miss the guy. But I can’t imagine the Browns getting more than a 5th round pick for him, so why trade him?
Colts linemen coached to throw cheap shots?
Esiason, asked about Jacksonville quarterback Byron Leftwich making two obscene gestures last week to Teerlinck that were caught on camera, said Teerlinck is known for telling his players to “dive at a quarterback’s knees. “[Teerlinck] teaches his guys techniques that really border on trying to get someone hurt and knock them out of the game,” Esiason said. “I understand why Byron Leftwich did what he did. I don’t condone that, but what I would have loved for him to do is just go up there and punch [Teerlinck] in the mouth.”
Browns haven’t given up a sack yet this year. Sounds like this should be a matchup worth watching.
Tribe got a gift last night. Howry’s gonna get heat for giving up the game-tying homer, but CC Sabathia is a FRICKIN’ HEADCASE. Jesus, Mary & Joseph, the guy has a couple big hop infield singles, and all of a sudden the roof caves in? WTF? I’m gonna say he starts Game 1 in the playoffs, but I AIN’T GONNA LIKE IT. People complain about Wickman makin’ ya nervous. HOLY SCHNIKEE, that ain’t nothing compared to 6-7 innings of Sabathia in the playoffs.
Also – great performance by Fernando Cabrera. Wow. That’s some heat. And Wickie? Only his 45th save of the year. HEY WICKMAN HATERS – GET OUTTA MY FRICKIN’ FACE. Save it for Trent Dilfer.
