Paternoville

A tent city started springing up outside Beaver Stadium at Penn State on Sunday. For today’s game. Saw some coverage of it today at halftime of the MN-UM game. Looks like the most fun anyone will ever have in their entire college career. Here’s an overhead shot that doesn’t do it justice. They had a one man tent packed with four girls on the halftime show. Ah….college.

Pittsburgh reporter on OSU-Penn State

Chico Harlan of the Pitteburgh Post-Gazette was on Kenny Roda this afternoon. He noted that the Bucks linebackers will probably shut down the Penn State running game. A regular at Chico’s Q&A page isn’t impressed.

I forced myself to go to Columbus, Ohio, and lo and behold I saw two men with hair so ratty it looked like they were using a new shampoo called Raw Sewage. Women would walk up to them on High Street and ask them how they were doing in their AIDS Awareness and golf classes and, immediately, I knew: These were Ohio State linebackers.

Nothing like some good trash talk, eh?? There’s lots more where that came from, so click the link. I think those ratty haired linebackers are gonna run rampant on Penn State, like they’re gonna do all year, every game.

Paterno – a throwback

PD does a good profile of a guy who started at Penn State when Lombardi was at Green Bay.

“I believe age is just a number, and I’ve always thought there was something wonderful about longevity. The only thing wrong with old age is the alternative.”

Remember all that talk that Paterno should retire last year? No so much this year, eh? Penn State beats OSU on Saturday, he’s got a national championship contender on his hands. Not bad for an old-timer.

A good preview of the Nittany Lions is here. This will be no walk-over for the Bucks. Especially on the road.
