CC – definitely flappable.

Tribe got a gift last night. Howry’s gonna get heat for giving up the game-tying homer, but CC Sabathia is a FRICKIN’ HEADCASE. Jesus, Mary & Joseph, the guy has a couple big hop infield singles, and all of a sudden the roof caves in? WTF? I’m gonna say he starts Game 1 in the playoffs, but I AIN’T GONNA LIKE IT. People complain about Wickman makin’ ya nervous. HOLY SCHNIKEE, that ain’t nothing compared to 6-7 innings of Sabathia in the playoffs.

Also – great performance by Fernando Cabrera. Wow. That’s some heat. And Wickie? Only his 45th save of the year. HEY WICKMAN HATERS – GET OUTTA MY FRICKIN’ FACE. Save it for Trent Dilfer.

Tribe bullpen issues

Lots of folks are wondering why Eric Wedge isn’t going to Fernando Cabrera out of the bullpen. So is the PD’s Paul Hoynes.

Cabrera is 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA in 11 appearances after a strong season in the minors. He has 20 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings, while allowing five runs and 22 hits. “We’ll see Cabrera sometime,” said Wedge. “He’ll pitch in a couple of tight situations. I would expect he’ll get in their in the next week to 10 days.”

OK, so, when? Seems to me the perfect time to have seen him was in the 10th in Chicago right before Crede clobbered a shaky David Riske.

Ah, the good ol’ days

Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports reminds us that at one time, the Indians were so bad that movies were written about them. I don’t know about the comparisons with the Major League roster, but I remember how empty that old stadium was, how bad that team used to stink to high heaven, and man, doesn’t that seem like another century now.

Hey wait a minute…it was another century.

Sox throwing in the towel?

This from the Washington Post got me.

So yes, the White Sox could have the worst fall. And for the first time they seem to accept that this is possible. Manager Ozzie Guillen has said that if his team wins 95 or 96 games and fails to make the playoffs he could live with that outcome. His players are starting to say the same thing.

Gee, I sure could live with that outcome, too! If the White Sox haven’t mailed it in yet, it sure sounds like they are ready to.
