Like I said…

…LeBron needs to hit his free throws.

0.6 seconds left, down two, he goes to the line for two shots (after a great play off an intentionally missed free throw), sinks the first, clanks the second. Game over.

Alan Henderson had a chance to tip in James’ miss, but that wasn’t his bucket to make. That was LeBron’s. And he failed. Again.

Overreacting? He doesn’t yet have that ice water in his veins. In fact, ESPN pointed out that LeBron is 2-for-15 with less than 10 seconds to go in the game. Hopefully that big shot ability will come, but it ain’t there yet. From the floor or from the line.

Rumored Cavs trade

ESPN Insider is reporting that the Cavs might be interested in acquiring Boston center Mark Blount and point guard Marcus Banks in exchange for Drew Gooden and Damon Jones. Previous reports had Blount going to either Minnesota or Memphis but now the Cavs are apparently in the mix as well.

This deal doesn’t seem to make much sense. Blount is averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds this season. He has four more years and about $28 million left on the six-year, $40 million contract he signed with Boston. He’s not getting along with his coach, and it sounds like lack of rebounding is one of the problems.

Gooden is having a great season and his contract is up at the end of the season, making him attractive to many teams. The Cavs should be looking to got more for him if they decide to deal him.
