Different story – same result. A win.

The storyline from every Cavs victory this pre-season keeps changing, and that’s great news. Used to be the only storyline for a Cavs victory was Lebron dominates, and everyone else kinda follows along. Now, you never know just how the Cavs are gonna win. Might be defense. Might be Lebron dominating. Might be bench play. (bench play!!)

Or like last night, you might hear about how Luke Jackson is hitting a 30 footer, how Damon Jones is 3-4 from 3-point land, and how Z scores 21. And oh yeah, Lebron pitches in 30.

Garcia on a calliope

Round and round she goes, where it stops, not even Marriucci knows…

The inevitable transition from Joey Harrington to Jeff Garcia began in earnest Wednesday when Garcia took half the practice reps, but it’s more a source of exasperation than excitement. Here they go again. The quarterbacking-go-round bouncing to the sound of the calliope, circling to the refrain of “This one is finally it!”
It doesn’t matter that Garcia is both physically and competitively challenged. The light of redemption will shine upon him the same as it did for Harrington four years ago and every predecessor for the last 40 years. And then it’ll disappear in an instant.

What do you think the reception will be for Garcia if he plays on Sunday? What if he plays well and kicks our ass?

Dilfer on Harrington

The blind lead the blind in today’s Detroit Free Press….

“I think how he handles this adversity will define his career,” Browns quarterback Trent Dilfer said. “There’s been a lot of guys that kind of cowered under the pressure and went and hid somewhere, and they weren’t successful down the road. And if you can just man up to the pressure and take responsibility for it and let your teammates see you haven’t lost confidence, that will go a long way in the future.”

Quoting Trent Dilfer on Joey Harrington’s troubles is one of the more entertaining pieces of futility I’ve seen in a while.

Damon Jones channelling Magic

Lookin’ forward to seein’ this

From time to time, Jones will make a high kick similar to a member of the Rockettes while dribbling up the court. Jones said he got the move from watching a video of Magic Johnson. “That’s the way Magic would keep the little guys off him,” Jones said. “That’s a big move to prevent the little point guards from trying to steal the ball but if they come in there when I make that kick, they’ll get a knee first. Plus [the high kick] is entertain ment for the fans.”

Nice. This team is gonna be fun to watch, in so many ways.
