PD’s Shaw getting carried away

For some reason, Bud Shaw is all lathered up about Lebron James “settling” for 3 pointers. What?

The 3-point shot is not only a fickle temptress, it’s exactly what every NBA team would prefer James do on most nights, just as every team preferred Jordan shoot instead of driving the lane or posting up.

That might be true, but Bud. They’ve played ONE GAME. The guy is obviously trying to show that he’s got another weapon, it is good that everyone finds this out, because they will then try to cover him 30 feet from the basket, which of course, is a good thing also. Geez….give the guy a break. Lebron is close to being able to score at will, from anywhere on the court, and he’s got some columnist nipping at his heels about going 6 for 7 from 3 point land. Lovely.

Droughns apologizes, will play

Is it just me, or do we tend to make a WAY bigger deal out of these things than they deserve? The guy got a DUI, but he blew 0.08, which a couple years ago would have been legal. And he was going 50 in a 35…yeah, none of us do that. Ever. I’m glad the Browns say it won’t affect his playing time.

Lebron vs. Wade – Round 1 to Lebron

In honor of the outrageously torrid performance by Lebron James last night, I’ve decided to start a new feature here at ClevelandScores. We are going to put Dwayne Wade vs. Lebron James on a regular basis, and finally put this IDIOTIC NOTION THAT DWAYNE WADE IS BETTER THAN LEBRON JAMES TO REST, ONCE AND FOR ALL. Dan Le Betard, you are officially on notice.

Here’s the line on Wade from last night’s Miami victory. 23 pts, 6 assists, 10 rebounds, played 40 minutes, 9-18 from the field, 0-1 from 3 point land, 5-7 from the free throw line. 2 blocks, 2 steals 7 turnovers.

Lebron? 31 pts, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, played 33 minutes, 9-16 from the field, 6-7 from 3 point land, 7-8 from the free throw line. 2 steals, 3 turnovers.

Throw in the whole incredible dominance thing…..and Advantage – Lebron.

Guarding Lebron

Is impossible, as we all know. But did you see where he started to draw defenders after he started hitting 3’s? He was getting defended 30 feet from the basket. If that’s going to start happening regularly, mark down yet another factor that will lead to Cavs blowouts like the one last night.
