More Browns activity

Savage and Crennel are not fooling around. The signing of Chester Taylor to an offer sheet looks like another smart move, adding depth and competition to the running back position. Hopefully the Ravens will not match the offer. The Browns have made it clear that William Green is gone, so this move isn’t a surprise. Savage probably looked at the running backs available in the draft and figured he could get a proven young back with upside potential for a 6th round pick (the pick would go to Baltimore).

Browns add linebacker

The Browns signed linebacker Matt Stewart, a starter from Atlanta. Stewart has experience in the 3-4 defense. Along with the nose tackle he signed last week, Phil Savage is giving Crennel some of the tools he’ll need to implement the new defense.

“He (Matt Stewart) can play either the outside or the inside linebacker position, which will provide us with some versatility as we transition into the 3-4.” ~ Phil Savage

I’m already getting ecxited about the new defense. We’ll actually see a Browns defense that blitzes and attacks the offense for a change.

Cavs spank Jazz

Too bad that punk Carlos Boozer skipped out on the trip to Cleveland. It would have been nice to see the Cavs punish him for his lying ways.

That said, it’s still sweet to see the Cavs thump the reeling Jazz. They made a huge mistake giving Boozer all that money, and now they’re paying for it.

As for the Cavs, they’re starting to get back to normal. Eric Snow and Anderson Varejao are leading the charge on defense, and LeBron James is making a statement with his improved jump shot. If LeBron keeps this up and the defensive intensity continues, these guys can do some damage in the playoffs.

Browns get Dilfer

It’s hard to get really excited about the trade for Trent Dilfer [LINK], but it’s not a bad move in light of the rebuilding strategy the new regime is taking. They need a solid QB who can make good decisions and throw the ball downfield, and Dilfer fits that perfectly. He has a knack for winning, and he’ll be a good transition to any young quarterbacks that Savage and Crennel decide to develop.

Clarett is an idiot

Clarett actually thought that Ohio State would let him work out for pro scouts with other Buckeye draft prospects [LINK]. He’s even dumber than we thought.
