Buckeyes win opener

The Ohio State Buckeyes started fast and then cooled down to beat Northern Illinois 35-12. The first quarter of yesterdays contest showed everyone a glimpse of why the Bucks are ranked number one in the country. Troy Smith and Ted Ginn connected twice on touchdown passes, and Ohio State made sure the Huskies were out of this game early.

The Buckeye defense looked just like people expected. The defensive line was strong, the linebackers were ok, and the defensive backs had some high and low points. The main concern Coach Tressel has going into next weeks contest are turnovers and missed tackles. These mistakes were made by mostly freshman and first time players.

The Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Texas to take on the Longhorns, attempting to revenge last years 25-22 defeat in Ohio Stadium.
