Hardest time of the year

…to be a Browns fan. (at least in the last 10-15 years or so) How tough is it to care one iota about the last game vs. the Ravens? I’m on the record as saying the Browns win this game, but man…after the last few weeks, it’s hard to stick with it. What are the Browns now, anyway, 5-10? Is that right? Hold on, lemme check….yup, 5-10. Is winning on Sunday, and finishing 6-10….is that progress? Do you care at this point?

Browns’ year-end medical report

So here’s how the Browns seasons have gone lately. Lots of promise in pre-season. Losses pile up. A couple wins here and there. Fans give up. And inevitably, an entire hospital ward gets filled with starters.

Receiver Braylon Edwards tore a knee ligament against Jacksonville, center Jeff Faine tore a biceps muscle against Oakland and tight end Steve Heiden tore an ankle ligament against Pittsburgh.

It gets ugly.

Faine had surgery to reattach his biceps muscle to the shoulder with biodegradable screws. Faine said he will start rehabilitation in two weeks.

I don’t know how anyone survives a full season in the NFL without injury anymore. It must be some kind of miracle.

Carpenter might play

After breaking his leg. Modern medicine is a marvel, eh? What do you guys think of this….would you take Carpenter with the first pick? Some folks this year said he’s actually the best linebacker at Ohio State…not sure I buy that. I have this recurring dream that the Browns are able to get A.J. Hawk in the first round, and Bobby Carpenter slips to the second round because of the injury, both end up in Cleveland.
