LeBron, Cavs continue hot streak

For the second consecutive game LeBron put down more than 40 points as the Cavaliers won yet another exciting one, defeating the Shaq-less Miami Heat 106-99 at the Q Saturday afternoon. LeBron, finishing with his 10th triple double of the season, went head to head with Dwayne Wade, outscoring him 47 to 44. The Cavaliers won their seventh straight and continue to widen the gap between them and the fifth seed Wizards, who currently sit 5 ½ games behind the Cavs.

“People got a view of absolute greatness,” Heat coach Pat Riley said. “It’s absolutely beyond description. I haven’t seen players do that in a long, long time.”

The young Akron phenom continues to amaze and astound with his awe-inspiring performances. LeBron is starting to catch the playoff fever and is really turning up his game against quality opponents.

Browns on Cruise contol?

There is some speculation around the league that Randy Lerner plans to sell a small portion of the Browns next year. The buyers, a possible Hollywood consortium, will have the option of purchasing the whole team, the following year. This will bring a “movie star” flavor to the Browns, with Tom Cruise being involved in the purchase. I am not surprised by this rumor. I never felt that Lerner wanted to own the franchise that his father both loved and honored. I just hope that the new owners will be as committed to winning as the new GM and coaches in the Browns organization.

Browns finally turning heads

The Cleveland Browns aren’t about to take a back seat to the Indians and Cavaliers when it comes to national attention. This year’s free agency has everyone around the league finally looking at the Browns. The Browns have created an offensive line that will boast both power and speed. They also look strong at the skilled positions.
Cleveland has nine picks in the draft, so the Browns management still has an opportunity to add to the already talented core of players.

Playoffs? Believe it!

LeBron James saw the opportunity to send his Cavaliers to their first playoff appearance in eight years and didn’t let anyone stand in his way. He was almost unstoppable, scoring 46 points on 16-23 from the field as the Cavs clinched a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs with their 107-94 home win over the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night. Whatever Mike Brown said at halftime must have worked because the Cavs exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavs 35-16. LeBron had a comical take on finally making it to the playoffs.

“I’ve always felt since I was drafted here that I was going to light it up like Vegas,” James said. “I said that on Day One once I got drafted. It’s been slow progress, but it takes a few years to put a building up in Vegas, too.”

Congrats Cavs! The playoffs have been long overdue and the team as well as the entire city deserves this.
