Buckeyes take early ranking

The 2006 College Football Season is around the corner and many see Ohio State as the favorite to make it to the Championship game. After the Buckeyes made such an impressive showing in this years NFL draft, you would think they were re-building.

The Ohio State defensive did take a major hit returning only 2 starters from last year, but many experts feel that this team is talented on the defensive side and it will pick up right where it left off.

The main reason for this high ranking is the offensive side of the ball is loaded with talent. The return of Troy Smith, Ted Ginn Jr. and the rest of the offensive is enough to make people shake their heads with envy. This is not a normal Buckeye formula for success, but with all this experience and speed, this team should be fun to watch.

Buckeyes, Tressel sign long term deal

The Ohio State University just inked the best signing of the 2006 season. The Buckeyes and Coach Jim Tressel have agreed to a 7-year extension continuing through January of 2013.

Tressel has been one of the most successful coaches at Ohio State and whole NCAA over the last 5 years. He carries a record of 50-13 and has a National Championship. The way Tressel embraced the Buckeyes tradition and history in his first year was a sign to everyone around Buckeye Nation that this was a long term relationship.

This move of loyalty and stability to Coach Tressel should only increase the power Ohio State has when trying to sign a prize recruit.

Bucks lose football and conditioning coach

The Ohio State Football team has always been in excellent physical shape and extremely disciplined since coach Jim Tressel has taken over the program. The Bucks team speed on the corners and power up the middle always gave Ohio State a decided advantage.

In a surprising announcement, the Buckeyes football and conditioning coach Allan Johnson has resigned. It has not been determined whether it was his decision or not. This is the quiet news on people behind the scenes that we always take for granted. I hope the Buckeyes show no ill effects from this decision. The numerous players that have been drafted into the NFL due to speed and power have been directly related to programs designed by Allan Johnson and Butch Reynolds.

Buckeye talent runs deep

The Ohio State Buckeyes are making a solid showing in today’s NFL draft, so it’s no shock that the current squad is a preseason favorite in a number of polls. The Buckeyes defensive was hit hard this year, but the offensive with the addition of Chris Wells is looking unstoppable.

Jim Tressel and the Bucks will have to open up the offense early in the season, while the defense gains experience. Look for Ohio State to be in the Championship game if they avoid an early let down.
