Pat Riley on Lebron

You gotta read this.

“What are you going to do?” Riley asked, shrugging his shoulders. “I’ve seen too many players like him . . . Magic, James Worthy and now Dwyane [Wade]. “At times, you’re helpless. When he’s rising on you and freezing you with the dribble, it’s sort of a helpless feeling.”

You get the feeling that Riley has just realized precisely which mountain he will need to climb to get his next NBA championship…and he’s worried. Dwayne Wade on Lebron

”When a guy’s 6-8, raises as high as he does and fades on his shot, you just try to do the best that you can to put a hand in his face,” Wade said.

Keep tryin’, Dwayne.

Lebron 1, Wade 0

Dwayne Wade had a great game last night at the Q, despite the Cavs beating Miami, but as is always the case with Lebron James, Lebron was even better. Watching the two on the court at the same time, there’s just something about Lebron that allows him to impose his presence on the entire game. Lebron’s numbers were slightly better than Wade’s, but that isn’t the real measure. You get the sense with Wade that he’s at his peak, this is the player he is going to be, for his career. With Lebron, not only is he better than Wade right now, he’s not nearly as good as he’s going to be. There seems to be a reservoir of greatness that is yet to be tapped. It is another privelege, for all of us, of being witnesses.
