Cavs leap off of schnide into slump

After a scorching 9-2 start, the Cavs have gon 2-7, including tonight’s mind-blowing loss AT HOME to the Atlanta Hawks, a team that had previously won only 3 games. This is no longer “on the schnide” territory. It’s an official slump.

Worse yet, Zydrunas is hurt. He says he’ll be back Thursday, but the last thing this team needed was for Zydrunas to be missing games…any games. He’s the only guy on the team other than Lebron who has been scoring consistently. Tonight’s game looked like the bad old days of standing around and waiting for Lebron to make a shot, of which he made many, for a total of 39 points. It was agonizing to watch.

Z hurt

As of this post, Cavs down by 7 at the half, at home, to the Hawks. Ugh. Word is that Z has a knee problem.

Ilgauskas, averaging 15 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, said his knee is sore from general wear and tear. He’s hoping to return for Thursday night’s game against Denver.

I played a little racketball today at the gym, and I know a little bit about “general wear and tear” on the knees. I’m officially worried.

Artest a Cav? No thanks.

Gotta love JEC for having the balls to make the argument, but I can’t see it happening, nor would I want it to happen. Who do the Cavs give up? Who would the Pacers want that the Cavs would be willing to give up? The deal simply doesn’t make sense to me.

Plus, I’m not all that impressed with Artest. Yeah, when he’s on, he’s great. But he is not consistent, and besides, I’m sorry, Ron Artest is trouble. Capital T. Trouble. Let’s wait and see how the defense looks when Ira Newble and Anderson Verajao come back to the lineup before we make any big moves.
