Browns finally talk…kind of

The Cleveland Browns held a press conference today to talk about…absolutely nothing. Oh, well they talked about the “team concept” and how one player doesn’t make a team and blah blah blah blah blah, but they didn’t give any details about Kellen Winslow’s injury, which was what the press conference was allegedly about, or his recovery schedule. I realize the extent of his injuries may not be known for some time, but Romeo Crennel kept talking about how Winslow was already rehabbing following the motorcycle accident and how committed he was. Wait, if you don’t know how badly he’s injured, how the hell is he going through rehab? Seems to me that you’ve got to know what your injury is before you can go about rehabbing it.

CHOSN1 on the Bang screen

Bang Cartoons is at it again. The site that featured the hilarious “Going Poston” cartoon last year has released another gem: “Easy Rider.” Watch as Kellen’s agents, the Poston Brothers, beg and plead with Romeo Crennel not to take their client’s signing bonus.

Ah yes, art imitating life.

Winslow released from the hospital

Nine days after his motorcycle accident, Kellen Winslow walked out of the Cleveland Clinic Tuesday on metal crutches. Winslow reportedly suffered several internal injuries and also damaged his right knee and shoulder, though the extent of the injuries has yet to be divulged to the public.

In a statement, released through the Browns, Winslow said, “I am determined more than ever to get back on the field with my coaches and teammates as soon as possible. I’m OK and excited to be going home. I would like to thank everyone in advance for respecting my privacy as I recover.”

I’m sorry, but this is getting old. When are we going to hear a definitive word on his injuries? Respect your privacy? Maybe you wouldn’t have to worry about that if we knew just how badly you screwed yourself up while riding a motorcycle you obviously couldn’t handle. Why is this information classified? Several rumors say Winslow will miss all of next season with a torn ACL but the Browns refuse to either confirm or deny these reports, instead leaving all Browns fans to wonder if we’ve got another first-round bust on our hands.

KW2’s wreckage on EBay

Bid early and bid often!

A piece of Kellen Winslow’s crashed motorcycle is being auctioned on EBay. The owner apparently works where the accident happened and saw Winslow and his buddies riding around in the lot before he crashed.

Expect Winslow himself to put the entire bike up on EBay soon to help him repay all the money he’s going to owe the Browns.

Browns’ official Winslow statement

From ClevelandBrowns.com:

“Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow was injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday in the Cleveland area.

Winslow has sustained some internal injuries, which are stable. There is also swelling in his right shoulder and knee. The extent of these injuries will not be known until further medical evaluation is completed after the swelling is reduced.

Winslow will remain at the Cleveland Clinic overnight. No timetable for his release has been determined.”

Swelling in the knee? That could be bad, bad news.
