Tribe signs journeyman starter, starts cable TV station

Same day. Irony, anyone?

In fact, Dolan said the new network’s expected revenues were already factored into the 2006 payroll, which is expected to eclipse $60 million. “We think this is the way to generate more revenue, and we will put it back in the payroll in order to support the team,” Dolan said. “There is certainly risk that we will not generate the revenue we think we will. We think that risk lies largely in the first couple years. But we are trying to build a strong, viable business.”

Tough business, this multi-media-sports-empire stuff. Today’s signing probably means Millwood is history. I’m not holding out much hope for this rotation beyond Lee, Sabathia, and Westbrook.

Cavs pre-Detroit week

Cavs are definitely on an upswing, which is very well timed. Looking at the schedule after Chicago tonight at home, they’re at NJ tomorrow, and then three days off before Detroit comes to the Q on Saturday. I think most teams would kill to have three nights off before facing Detroit.

Browns SUCKED

It figures. The one weekend I take off, don’t have to blog the Browns game, can just enjoy it like a normal Cleveland sports fan, they uncork what might have been the worst performance since expansion. It was a joke.

My family was planning on attending the 4.30 Christmas Eve mass, and I thought, wow, I’m gonna have a real problem pulling myself away from that Browns game if it’s close…SILLY ME! As we’re pulling into the church parking lot, Steelers go up 41-0. Hilarious.

By the way, anyone else have a real, serious twinge of buyer’s remorse on the whole Charlie Frye bandwagon thing? Yikes. Of course it’s way too early to go all Trent Dilfer on the kid, but WOW….some of those throws reminded me of my less than stellar flag football outings.
