Batch to start – not sure it matters

Despite some awful numbers last Sunday.

Batch was 9 of 16 for 65 yards, one interception and a 39.8 passer rating. But he impressed his coaching staff with his poise and will get another chance Sunday.

I’m not real sure this makes a big difference for the Browns. The Steelers are at their heart a running team, and we haven’t been all that solid in run defense.

4 game, non-Lebron MVP?

Tossup between Drew Gooden and Donyell Marshall, gotta give the edge to Donyell. He’s averaging a double-double with 11.7 pts, 10 rebounds, in only 24 minutes per game, off the bench. That’s the kind of delivery teams dream of having from a bench player. He’s only played in three games. You can pretty much bank on the guy.

Better 3pt shooter – Lebron or Donyell?

After four games, hard to make this claim, but the fact that Lebron wants to make it speaks volumes.

Asked who is the better 3-point shooter on the team — Marshall or himself — James said with a smile: “Me. Just look at the stats. It’s self-explanatory.”

So I did. Lebron is shooting .476 this year, .332 career from 3pt land. He’s taken 21 threes, made 10 of them this year. Donyell Marshall is shooting .400 this year, .354 career. He’s only taken 10 threes, made 4 of them. Whoever wins this battle, it’s a good one to be having.

A good win

Cavs got a win they needed in Toronto tonight. They beat a team they should beat, and they beat ’em soundly, by 12, on the road. The game was never really in doubt, especially in the second half. No one really had a spectacular performance, but everyone delivered solidly. At 2-2, Cavs are meeting expectations as they gel into a team.

I am still rather impressed with Drew Gooden. This guy is really playing well, better than he played last year, for sure.
