Voting on Artest – are you guys crazy?

I’ve been watching the voting in the sidebar on whether or not readers at this blog want Ron Artest on the Cavs….and you guys really are surprising me. You want Ron Artest? With Utah in town, we got all this Carlos Boozer handwringing going on, it’d be 100 times worse with Artest. He’d destroy the team. He’d do the same thing to the Cavs that T.O. did to Donovan McNabb’s Eagles. I really hope Danny Ferry isn’t that stupid.

Boozer the sell out

This is what happens when you make decisions based solely on money.

After departing Cleveland a rich and healthy player on the rise, Utah forward Carlos Boozer’s fortunes — and both teams’ fans — have turned against him.

I’ve always thought that basketball players benefit from playing in big college programs like Duke, the one Boozer came out of. Thought it made them better human beings, better players, better all around. I guess it depends on the person. Lebron James never went to college….doubt we’ll ever hear anything like this about him. Someday perhaps Cavs fans will have a shot at yelling their outrage down on Boozer at the Q…not tonight it appears.

Buckeyes starting to get some love

Je’kel Foster is the player of the week on Andy Katz’s weekly watch

It’s praise that Foster rightly deserves and hopefully will get more of it as the season goes on. Everyone wants to focus on next year, and it will be a great year, but this year’s team is going to be interesting. The big ten will be tough, but it should be an entertaining season and people are finally starting to take notice.

Pat Riley on Lebron

You gotta read this.

“What are you going to do?” Riley asked, shrugging his shoulders. “I’ve seen too many players like him . . . Magic, James Worthy and now Dwyane [Wade]. “At times, you’re helpless. When he’s rising on you and freezing you with the dribble, it’s sort of a helpless feeling.”

You get the feeling that Riley has just realized precisely which mountain he will need to climb to get his next NBA championship…and he’s worried. Dwayne Wade on Lebron

”When a guy’s 6-8, raises as high as he does and fades on his shot, you just try to do the best that you can to put a hand in his face,” Wade said.

Keep tryin’, Dwayne.
