Buckeye hoops out to fast start

The Ohio State Buckeyes basketball team has started 3-0 and jumped to number 5 in the AP poll. The Bucks won the BCA Classic by running past Kent State in the second half. This team only returns one starter and is playing without heralded freshman Greg Oden.

As soon as Buckeye football is done, the town of Columbus should prepare themselves for more excitement on the hard court. Thad Matta and his team are going to make some noise this year.

Buckeyes have it all on the line

The week is finally here. I’m an avid Buckeye fan and I’ve been cheering for “that team up North” to lose all year. I wanted Ohio State to go 12-0 and “those guys” to go 0-12. My friends and family have wanted this match up all year. They want “the game” to be for all the marbles. Jim Tressel and his Buckeyes have had success against Michigan the past 5 years, winning 4. I guess if you go by those statistics, this game should be for the National Championship. I can’t stand “that” team or the thought of them winning anything, so it’s here and it’s time for Ohio State to put final nail in their coffin.

Buckeyes win and finally “the week” is here

The Ohio State Buckeyes coasted to a 54-10 victory over Northwestern on Saturday and now can start preparing for the biggest game of their life. The offense looked sharp as Troy Smith continued his quest for a Heisman Trophy and a National Championship. Smith’s game was an efficient 12-19 for 185 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Antonio Pittman ran for 80 yards on 19 carries and eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the year, joining an elite group of Buckeyes that have done this for two consecutive seasons.

The Buckeyes and Michigan are both 11-0 and now can go head to head with everything on the line next Saturday at the Shoe.

Buckeye hoops start 2-0

The Ohio State Basketball team isn’t taking long to make a statement. The young Buckeye team defeated a very experienced Loyola-Chicago team 87-75 and is 2-0 on the season. Ohio State was lead by Ron Lewis, who scored the first 7 points of each half, and ended up with 27 points for the game.

Coach Thad Matta was happy with the 2-0 start, but quickly pointed out that the Buckeyes were a long way from where they needed to be. Tonight, in the championship game, the Bucks will take on Kent State, a fellow neighbor from northern Ohio.

James actions causing a stir

The Cleveland Cavaliers were in the process of losing to the Atlanta Hawks and LeBron James was very frustrated. He missed a three point shot and as the other players ran down court, James starting walking to the bench. There was still a few seconds left on the clock, but WHO CARES!
James has never been accused of not playing hard in his short NBA career. He hustles, plays defense and does whatever it takes to win. I believe the media needs to stop looking for stories where there isn’t one. The Cavs are struggling, but it has nothing to due with effort. James is one of the classiest NBA stars and wants to win, lets LEAVE HIM ALONE.
