Defense holds on for win

Charlie Frye and the Browns started out hot by opening up a 14-0 lead in the second quarter and held Michael Vick in check enough to preserve their 17-13 victory.

The offense may not have looked pretty at times, but they did just enough to win as the Browns’ defense was very impressive in their efforts to contain the dangerous Falcon offense. Browns touchdowns were scored by Rueben Droughns on a 1-yard run on fourth down in the first quarter and a Braylon Edwards 19-yard pass from Charlie Frye in the second quarter. Kellen Winslow, who led the team with 90 yards on 5 catches, had a couple of outstanding grabs on sideline streaks.

It was the defense which did a nice job of controlling the Falcons when the Browns sputtered offensively in the second half and Sean Jones picked off yet another pass for his fifth INT of the season.

Just what we needed heading into next week’s home battle with Pittsburgh!
