The Indians won their third straight as they beat the Texas Rangers 6-5 Friday night. Jason Michaels had one of his best games of the season as he went 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBI.
“J-Mike came through in a huge way tonight,” said Wedge
The Rangers almost doubled the number of the Trible hits but it didn’t matter as the Indians came away with the victory. Kevin Mench homered for his seventh straight game for the Rangers. Bob Wickman gave up a run in the ninth but got his fifth save of the season and his 129th as an Indian, tying a club record.
Jason Johnson gave up a lot of hits in his six innings of work but pitched well enough to keep us in the ballgame, which is all you can ask for of a #5 starter. The offense produced big hits and let’s hope we keep this winning streak going.
