Je’kel Foster is the player of the week on Andy Katz’s weekly watch

It’s praise that Foster rightly deserves and hopefully will get more of it as the season goes on. Everyone wants to focus on next year, and it will be a great year, but this year’s team is going to be interesting. The big ten will be tough, but it should be an entertaining season and people are finally starting to take notice.

Livy throws cold water on Frye parade

Posted on Monday 19 December 2005

I guess he has a point. But I disagree. This kid is for real. And can someone please name the last Browns QB who could throw a ball on the run like Frye does? Scramble like him? Avoid the rush? Run for first downs? Frye brings something to the position that the Browns really have never had, at least in my lifetime.

Pat Riley on Lebron

Posted on Monday 19 December 2005

You gotta read this.

“What are you going to do?” Riley asked, shrugging his shoulders. “I’ve seen too many players like him . . . Magic, James Worthy and now Dwyane [Wade]. “At times, you’re helpless. When he’s rising on you and freezing you with the dribble, it’s sort of a helpless feeling.”

You get the feeling that Riley has just realized precisely which mountain he will need to climb to get his next NBA championship…and he’s worried. Dwayne Wade on Lebron

‘’When a guy’s 6-8, raises as high as he does and fades on his shot, you just try to do the best that you can to put a hand in his face,'’ Wade said.

Keep tryin’, Dwayne.

Amazing what a Browns win does

Posted on Monday 19 December 2005

…to some people. Like ESPN’s Eric Allen.

This is a Browns team that could have a very good nucleus next season with Kellen Winslow II, Braylon Edwards, Reuben Droughns and now QB Charlie Frye. He’s been able to make plays with his legs for this team and buy his guys time. They could be very good, very soon.

Not sure about the “very soon” part. Two of those guys are currently re-habbing knee injuries. But the point is definitely taken.
