What an impressive showing. It’s also nice to see Peralta launch that bomb,and C.C. continues to prove he can be a big time pitcher.
I think they would need to sweep to gain first place and I doubt that will happen (but if the LAAAs did them four straight, it’s possible.)
If they can go 4-2 over the six games left with Chicago, they should be busy in October. That should either be enough to overtake the Sox or stave off the Yankees or (more likely) the Damon-less freefalling Red Sox. 3-3 against Chicago and they need serious help. 5-1 against them is a virtual lock.
