ESPN Insider is reporting that the Dolphins have shown some interest in signing Tim Couch. Six NFL teams have expressed interest in Couch, with the Giants rumored to be the most interested.
This might be true, but until Couch demonstrates that his arm is healthy and that he can handle a demanding practice session, teams will be very careful about signing him. I hope he gets another chance, but he better choose carefully. He needs to avoid teams with the West Coast offense at all costs.
I think I read that he’ll be able to start throwing the ball again and working out for teams in a couple of weeks. Obviously, nobody’s going to sign him until he proves he’s healthy, but if he does just that, I’m sure someone’s going to take a shot with him. Couch is still young and while he’s never been a proven winner, his experience would be invaluable to a team with QB questions.
