It’s official: Pro Bowl center and the Browns’ prized offseason acquisition LeCharles Bentley will miss the entire season with a torn patellar tendon.
“He was the face of our free agent class,” Savage said. “He was a player that probably wanted to play for the Browns as much as anyone.”
Savage said Bentley didn’t suffer the injury due to contact or the result of a pile-up, but rather by planting his foot awkwardly after being unable to stop his forward momentum.
Browns fans have been waiting seemingly decades for the team to put together a solid offensive line. Looks like we’ll have to wait one more season. Bob Hallen replaced Bentley with the first-team offense Thursday but rumor has it the Browns will be scouring the list of available free agents.

This is football, and injuries occur. The bright side of this, is that we have a pro bowl caliber center in the year 2007. Now Braylon should be returning full stregnth in 07, The Bentley will be out of the shop, a full year for Charlie, K2, J.J., Reuben, and the entire offense gelling together, and the defense will have another year under Romeo’s system. Isn’t that what we want, for the 2007 season. Worst case scenerio, the Browns could have the #1 pick in 07, and Reggie Bush holds out for the 06 season and re-enters the draft. Just kidding. Come on yall, we’ve been through this before. And I say this with pride. CLEVELAND, OHIO HAS THE BEST FANS IN THE WORLD. Bottom Line. 216 FA LIFE.
well it looks like the injury bug has bitten us again , a well what comes around goes around i guess, admit it even though we would never wish an injury on anyone , when worthlessburger, mamed his face (and be honest ) how many of us (browns fans) were secretly like YES! terrible as it may be part of me was glad to see someone other than cleveland feel the sting of an injury,karma…mabey but all in all i dont get that woe is me feeling even though bentley would have been a much needed and anticipated part of the team these things happen, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger! get well soon lecharles..rest up we’ll see next year!
