Browns close out first day with wide receiver
With the 78th pick, the Browns used their third-round selection on WR Travis Wilson of Oklahoma. He is 6′2″, 213 pounds and has very good hands. He’s projected as a third or fourth receiver in the NFL and is characterized as more of a possession receiver.
I’m not really sure why they would use a third-round pick on a wide receiver since we are talented and deep at that position but apparently Wilson coud be effective in the red zone with his catching ability. For our next two picks in the fourth round, I’d like to see us use them on linemen on either side of the ball. Overall, not a bad day at all for Savage and crew.

I was a little surpired by this pick, but maybe they see him as a guy who can learn under Joe J. and develop into a solid #3 receiver. It gives them another tall receiver – he’s listed as 6′ 4″ in some of the profiles.
I listened to his interview on the Browns web site. He has a little bit of an attitude, but by the end of the interview he started saying the right things.
The fact remains that Edwards will not be 100% at the start of the season, so this pick probably gives them some insurance at that position.
